Chapter 23. Rhianelle, girl, we all knew he wasn’t human. Also, Demon Lord K is wrong for mistranslating. Again, I still don’t feel totally solid in the flow of the plot, but I’m intrigued. The Ancient Ones are so evil it’s crazyyy how they haven’t been overthrown yet. I alive the Comissioner and then tbh. Get the friend back and avenge her sister’s death and save her people is a lot left to do!

Chapter 19. Good so far. It makes me laugh because she’s sitting on a bench outside the hospital on the one day a week she is allowed to visit and her friends/guards don’t say anything! I thought the Duke and the “Devil” were the same person but they can’t be. I don’t like the other guy the Duke hangs with, he seems very shady. I like the mmc falls harder trope but a dark love triangle is intriguing.

Currently at chapter 6. I think it’s a good book so far but I almost feel like I’m a little lost on some of the intricacies of court. I’m following the general plot points but I’m definitely not fully comprehending how the Booktok scene I read about will happen. I’m confused on the dream male (fated mate? but human?) and if he is a good or bad guy. I’m also happy Garrett was spared but how!

Colin’s not as romantic as I’d hoped 😭 I love them both being a bit older (28 & 33). Love Felicity and can’t believe they edited her out and completely added in another man in the show (they would have both been good)! Hate Cressida in both lol. Nigel with Philippa is crazy! Danbury is even sassier in this. This book just feels a little slow in terms of action. No queen either. Just the bet to uncover W.

This all feels like exposition. I want the action! Also, Lady Danbury is noticeably different in the books versus the movies. I think I like Adjoa and the show slightly more at this point. I love that Colin notices Pen. They both drift away into thought and are much more than the surface. It’s a really lovely parallel that shows they are in sync subtly.

A worm, an arm, a tattoo, lots of wine, a lever, a longing-filled gaze, and now we approach the third trial. If I didn’t know this was a series, I fear this would be scarier to deal with. Rhys v. Tamlin is very interesting, especially because she can’t hide her comebacks and wit with Rhys. This world is absolutely awful tho. I hope Lucien’s bros die and that everyone know Jurian is not claimed by humans!

Tamlin said “I love you” to Feyre and sending her away because of Araminta (ik that’s Bridgerton but that’s what I call her) and Rhysand! Tamlin and Lucien bowing and begging! Nasty Nesta trying to save her and not being glamoured. “Stay with the High Lord” is about to mean Rhysand (based off spoilers - I’m assuming). Left off at the ball scene and trouble will follow I’m sure. I want her to save Tam!

Tam saved her instead of Lucian from the Suriel. Tam is going to show her the gallery and get her paint like Rapunzel and Beauty and the Beast. I swore from a Booktok spoiler though that Tamlin betrays her so I’m very sad and cautious :( But he likes her. Also, in my head he’s all dark hair and pale and not blonde and tanned with a constant mask.

It’s good so far. Not a fan of Feyre’s family, especially Nesta. Wandering around the castle is giving me Bridgerton S4 flashbacks to Sophie being like “I know how to leisure” when she clearly has no idea of how to do anything but survive. I’d be totally freaked out by the monsters we’ve met so far. I don’t know how to take Tamlin, snarky Lucian, or Andreas (rip but he definitely accepted his fate).

So, she’s seen his eye but not his face or his scars. They did it on a piano for her first time. He’s so simp and in love with her but thinks he can’t overcome going outside and admitting what happened to him. Also the French pet names…”ma petit muse” “mon amour” “ma belle muse” are so flipping cute. Can’t find where they go “my moonlight” “my midnight” to each other grr…

Rand Chatelain v. Sol Bordeaux. Loving Sol’s character this far. Super obsessed and protective, although in denial about what he’s feeling (Ben — put the pieces together and help your twin out please). I need him to communicate with her about Rand so we don’t have a gross miscommunication trope. Also, mafia families in New Orleans (Sol speaking French) along with mental health rep FMC I’m encouraged so far.

The prediction happened because Bella died! Although Aaron doesn’t stay for her, Dr. Shaw meeting her on the last page was good b/c his small recurrences were definitely leading to something. I feel bad for David, although I am glad him and Dannie will have a chance to find their own epic love stories. I liked it, although I’m sad for Bella; I’m happy her mom enrolled her in school w/ Dannie. Overall, good book

Bella and Aaron = predictable couple. Of course dream man is the bffs bf. Also, the little moments between Dannie and him are kinda weird. David seems too understanding. I think he knows on some level but does love her (but he’s not in love with her anymore?) so he stays. There have been some big time jumps and the timeline isn’t adding up in some spots for me (five months till December does not mean June/July).

She’s very particular about numbers but I don’t hate the FMC. I like the plot thus far.

Ok, so I finished it. I don’t feel like Guy needed to be an antagonist necessarily but it did fit TLH formula. Levi and Bee are cute. I wish Levi’s family would have gotten told off more. I’m not mad overall :)
