Most of the characters of this book including the protagonist have some very warped ideas about people’s sexuality and even worse how and when people are suppose to express it.

A cowardly main character, an entire ensemble of narrow thinking supporting characters and the slowest moving story line - I am part bored and part indignant with this story.

So far I am finding it difficult to care about any character mentioned, and the what seems to be the premise of the impending conflict so far has been lacking in detail enough for me to attach myself to any outcome. If something doesn’t change soon a story about pet birds is not going to be enough to maintain interest.

One awesome thing is how Andrew and Neil understand the difference between confirm and casual consent; and the overall importance of consent.

I am so interested now in knowing how a coach Phil who turns a blind eye to such serious offenses that the monster on his team commit can actually start blaming another player for in fights rather than looking maybe to his lax and fucked off management of his team.

Andrew and Riko are equals in how they torture their own team, I just don’t get how no one has beaten to death or locked him in a cell to rot for the things he has done, and I don’t know why the author keeps trying to make it seem like he is justified in his bad behavior and readers think he is oh so dreamy both of them are equally sadistic fucks.

It’s simple they just need to get rid of Andrew after what he just did to Allison he should be locked up and forgotten. He is a dangerous, irrational, controlling asshole who everyone tolerates out of fear and hopeless little Kevin’s sake.

Okay I just have to say it, I have no idea why the coach or the players allow Andrew to stick around he just brings misery to them. Everything was smoother between everyone while he was away.

And how is it okay for Zack to defend Emir’s honor but Emir let it destroy his relation when Bastion did the same thing?

The only thing I don’t get about this book leading into the end is how Shah makes everything that has happened Bastions fault. His parents moved him away, he isolated when he returned and didn’t try to rekindle a friendship and he was the one that was an aggressive dick when Bastion tried to initially help him.

So I am to believe that with all Neil knows about his father and the Moriyama‘ she honestly even for one second thinks some delinquent can protect him when he has spent his whole life running and collecting scars and even lost his mother because of the powerful and twisted men.

How does Kevin get off calling anyone a child when he behaves like an entitled brat demanding and bullying everyone around him into doing whatever he wants. He has become the Riko of this team.

Once again a player, Kevin this time, behave like a manipulative bullying asshole and Neil being a spineless twat just relents without much of a fight. How long will it take for him to realize that this team or sport is not worth what he has to loose if he is found and killed.

How dare Kevin blame Neil for their tardiness in progressing his training when at any time he could have decided to train him, Andrew be damned. Especially since not once does he (or anyone) so far act remorseful or apologize for drugging him, an activity they have done to previous players and still be allowed to remain on the team (extending disbelief can’t even allow be to swallow that easily).

No need to get into the many psychosis that make Andrew. Kevin is a sad pathetic twat. Neil is behaving contrary to every thought he has which make him stupid as all hell. No one stands up to the bullies and just accept it as the social norm and the coach who wants to act with indignation over their behavior enables all the bad choices and sadism. No one strives to rise above their history or circumstance.

Neil is a fucking idiot and tool, he has spent most of his life being careful without attachments to avoid being found but for a sports opportunity he risk everything with a band of degenerate assholes who abiuse and even drug him and somehow every review I have read swoons the bromantic efforts of this fucked off story.

I am sick of Aelin being so haunted over losing her human body, didn’t she spend more than half the book not in a mortal form and didn’t seem so broken up over it. And why did the lock take he human form, and mortal mundane element, why not the fae aspect as it is more powerful and full of magic it seems odd.

Is Aelin going to spend this entire book being a bossy, controlling, dismissive, self depreciating, sad sack. I mean ffs make different or better decisions and listen to the people around you instead of being a snarky know it all.

And why did all these idiots vote to use the keys now before destroying the army, either way they were going to loss Aelin as a weapon but at least had they waited she could have took out the army instead they have a useless Aelin, weakened Dorian, Erawan, Maeve and a massive army to contend with.

So everyone is like at least Aelin took care of half the problem by making it so the brothers can come through even if she screwed up and made an arbitrary call that left them stuck with the big bad. Well no if she had done what she was suppose to the big bad would be gone and the gates would be sealed preventing the brothers from crossing over, quit excusing her selfish behavior.

And I really just can’t keep up with these god’s problems and their behavior. And what is up with this between world with all the gates, they could not be sealed so easily the preexist all that is happening since Maeve found them long before the god problems.

This book is ridiculous, the wyrdgates and keys were not the enemy, erawan was and Aelin being the fool she is let him stay after book after book of her creating this grand scheme to get rid of him she just found a way to make herself more useless.

Had it not been for Mark’s disloyalty Kieran would be out of everyone’s life and the Blackthorns would have been at the institute fighting and planning together rather than split apart.

I think Kit’s sympathies for Kieran are very misplaced. This is a faerie and they themselves manipulate with cruelty and disregard, and Kieran has proven himself to be one that would endanger his lover and his family just to try and force Mark back into his arms and bed.

So a promise to ride with the hunt once more, an arrow head trinket and the pretty face of a faerie bastard prince are all that take for Mark to turn his back on his family and run off to faerie, how long before his departure is permanent and the Blackthorn family is left despairing for his loss once more.

None of the twisted relationships so far are love, they are children being children and playing at love. Emma could save her and Julian a lot of tragedy and useless pining if she would be honest about what she now knows but she would rather be deceitful, I think she is secretly an emotional cutter.
