Offhandedly wondered why my copy is only 315 pages when goodreads says itd 430 pages but I think its because the print is small and dense as fuck + no full-page chapter breaks lol

You may be thinking, why are you reading this book-length essay of Pauline Kael's that has been widely discredited in the decades since its publication? Well 1) found this book at a used book store and I am fascniated by it as an object 2) I am on a train and wanted a small enough paperback to fit in my purse.
