I’m struggling to care about the characters and I’m not enjoying having to look up words. One early paragraph contained the following words: obsequious, incipient, embonpoint, apotheosis in addition to five other multi syllable words for which I knew the definition.
This book was published in 1929 by a renowned British crime writer named Josephine Tey. I wish I liked it better.

I had this book for 9 weeks. It wasn’t enough time for me to plow through and digest this prequel to Nine Eleven. I expect to come back to it at some point, but for now it’s back at the library.

I’ve been reading this book for 7 weeks. It’s not the author’s fault, but my unfamiliarity with the politics and players in the Middle East.

What’s driving me to keep going is the foreshadowing of the present issues in Israel and the deep animosity Bin Laden’s has toward Israel and her supporters.

Fascinating, and well written.
