This is a banger! So much energy and spirit. Massive plot flaws. Like why does a linguist not learn the English of 1847 before she starts conversing with the poor man? So many "Yeah, whatever, ha ha,...' slang. It is a bit weird given her back story.

Marion Erle! I was ready to dislike you but your story is so tragic.

This is a crazy ride. The language is all elegance and passion but the plot is just nonsensical. The dead aunt clasping the unopened letter in her cold hand...hmmm. And then are we supposed to admire Aurora for saying no to a thirty thousand pound safety net? What Agnes Grey would have given for this - and there are no questions of the money being dirty.

Book 1 complete.

Deep in Canada. I have learnt so much from this book, and it makes me deeply sad that none of the river deaths described were known to me beforehand.

Medea is a masterpiece. So powerful. I am not so much in for the love poetry.
