I’ve found another book like Ice Planet Barbarians - including the cringey cover! Still trying to heal after my last book and hopefully this will help.

This is a rough one to get through so far. Feels very procedural. Snore! I had high hopes after PHM and so far they aren’t even close to being met.

Why do I do this to myself? I cannot stand this author.

I have a feeling I’m going to hate this.

I’m completely geeking out to have been approved for this ARC.

I have 37 minutes left and turned it off. I feel like that says a lot that I got to the end of this book and just didn’t care enough to push myself for another half an hour.

Is this author really from Idaho? One of the characters said she “read her book the whole way to McCall”. Naaah. I don’t care if you never get carsick, that is GOING to make you carsick.

This will be my third time reading this (with my ear holes) and I’m excited.

This is a reread for book club. I think I remember liking it all those years ago. Now? Not so much.

How many times can an author hit a reader over the head with vague hints that “something” occurred in the past? 45% in and NOTHING has happened. Not eligible for return so I can’t DNF.
If this “progress report” inspires just one person to remove this from their TBR, it will feel cathartic… releasing me from the banal torture I have endured and will continue to endure for the remaining time of this book.

This month’s book club read, the genre being “high school read”. But it turns out this was a JUNIOR HIGH read so I’m struggling.

I guess I’m doing this.

I should have quit this book after the first chapter. I’m continuing this train wreck so I don’t lose out of the “pages challenge”.

I’m heading toward the end of this book and literally NOTHING has happened.

Slogging through. This book is NOT going well for me. Confusing pace and so far a disappointment.
