This book had me at the "Cheshire, England 17-"

First, be aware that I'm a huge Peter Pan fan. To me, no better story has ever been written. This book, so far, is brilliant!

I'm having a tough time with The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley. I'm not ready to give up but I have to shelve this for awhile. Not a reflection on the writing, which is terrific. I think it might be me. I'll come back another time.

This story is deeply affecting to me. I just passed a chapter on cat calling that made me tear up. I wish I knew Renee Watson. She must be one hell of a woman.

It's a challenging and testing moment to discover that those in our life are not what they seem; to have that portrait we've sketched in our minds shattered by reality. This is a story of just that, beautifully woven into a deeply powerful novel. I can hardly put it down.
