Manacled was a 6 star read for me but my postpartum brain is really not comprehending or appreciating this as much as I maybe should? Part of me wants to DNF for now and come back to it at a later point.

I fear we’ve lost the plot

Not to be dramatic but I’ve been waiting for Annie and Mac’s story since book 1 !!!!

The start of this book was really promising but for a short book it felt like it dragged on. I didn’t think of the main characters were very compelling and I was overall just disappointed with the way things ended.

I fear it is time to face the fact that I am not an Ava Reid fan.

What in the hunger games, gild, acotar, crowns of nyaxia is going on here??? While I’m enjoying it so far I feel like it’s been a mash up of every fantasy/romantasy I’ve ever read.

I love these two and I missed the tension and their chemistry so much!!

Lucy throws a temper tantrum every chapter. Jack is absurdly (or maybe suspiciously??) nice to someone who threw a pie in his face. Lucy’s friends seem sketchy. I don’t love it, but I did just start it this afternoon so I must not hate it.

Incredibly predictable yet I can’t stop reading

Guys they’re rival grad student who study analytical magic and they have to travel to hell to rescue their advisor so that they can graduate… NEED I SAY MORE? This is a fantasy made for math/logic people. Very promising so far

I love the writing style in the book. It makes me feel like I’m watching a teenage family sitcom and it’s just so fun!

It’s weird because I’m so curious as to who dies and who the killer is but I really do not care about these characters or anything that’s happened so far. Can I skip to the good part?

All conflicts have been resolved. The couple is happy. Yet there’s 18% of this book left… suspicious…
