My new favourite Irish novel! It is incredibly story based in early 20th century Ireland on class struggle with in dept perspectives including the workers, wealthy south-siders and the church during the 1913 lock-out. The church and clearly were really the ones who made blood boil. A mixture of vitriol towards the poor, apathy for their plight and lack of courage from the clergy.
