Excuse me, the edge of my seat isn’t big enough rn! 😂 I’m about to fall off in anticipation!

How many times do we lie to ourselves or just say “It could be worse” to try to make light of an experience or dissociate from the pain?

“For quiet corners”, “For a girl to make herself small”, “… received softness, silence, and duty”, “She forced a smile because children were expected to.” 💔

Quick Reminder: you never need to accept something to just be nice or polite. Screw that - respect boundaries. No means no 👏 We need to work together to empower children with setting boundaries & accepting other people’s boundaries. We collectively need to not peer pressure people into breaching those boundaries or allowing others to cross them. Consent is important, choice should be respected. 👏

Good character development, more information about the magic system. I predicted the plot & this book didn’t have as good of an ending.

EXCUSE ME?!? That twist was absolutely diabolical!

Zodiac Fate: 3.5/5 much better than the prequel. The military aspects, magic system, & exploration of morals was a definite improvement. It also definitely got “the feels” working- this author does not shy away from controversies, power imbalances, abuse, mental health challenges, & other topics that might be considered “triggering”. Looking forward to book 2 of MC understanding & embracing her abilities!

Finished the prequel - 3/5 stars. The formatting is distracting, every time there is a quotation mark starting a new line, there is a smudge. I found the world building lacking, characters rushed, and overall writing style one dimensional. I don’t feel invested in the story, if the series didn’t receive overall high reviews - I wouldn’t have continued reading this.
