I feel like maybe, just maybe, "barely perceptible whispers" are not a great choice for a fucking audiobook. that's like printing the dialogue in white ink. but hey, fuck accessibility i guess!

Really bothered by the narration constantly referring to someone with established they/them pronouns as she/her. That's just bad. Why try for representation if you're going to mess it up?

Like.. just because you toss a bunch of feminist terms around and keep wishing you were cool like a riot grrrl, doesn't mean shit until you actually change your attitude. God.

God I'm getting so frustrated with this whole setup.

For a book supposedly about feminism, there's a serious lack in.. y'know, actual feminism. Starting to think I should DNF rather than continue to groan at the latest disappointments.

Really? Everything is going way too easy for her, use of language is just bad enough to be annoying, and now there's a two year time skip? It was only a week after the apocalypse how can you possibly just skip two years ahead? Ughhh.

Yeah right. She gets herself so completely drunk that she passes out within minutes, and then when she wakes up she's totally fine? I'm so annoyed at this girl.

Ugh. Suddenly he wants her to kiss him? Are you kidding me? The last fucking thing this book needs is a love triangle between the super special chosen girl, the mysterious dark stranger and the upbeat best friend.

I was kind of starting to like the story, meeting all the fey and so many strange things happening.. and then stupid Robbie/Puck came back with all his 'princess'-ing. Ugh.

Okay plot twist I didn't see coming. Impressed. But what the hell is up with Robbie literally calling her princess every three sentences? Very fucking subtle.. not. And his big reveal was terrible, saw that coming from ages away.

Her best friend's name is Robbie Goodfell? Are you kidding me? Cause that's not obvious at all. And "I'm not like miss inflate-a-boob who's afraid of caged gerbils and would faint if she got a speck of dust on her expensive jeans" way to be a women hater, you special little Mary. Yikes.
