I think horror books are very hit or miss with a lean on miss - the things I think worked well weren’t expanded on, and the things I didn’t like were too in depth. I understand the themes of cycles of violence and things like that, but a little too much time spent on basketball at the climax instead of a plot

If it’s a critique of AI, it doesn’t feel strong enough. If it’s a passive, emotionless observation about human emotion, it’s done better in other books. If it’s about the power of the concept of love, with either Klara’s devotion to the Sun or her understanding of the relationships around her…I just don’t get it
