Okay, let me shut up and just read the book 😅 Clarke and Bellamy don’t need to end up together in the first book—or first 20 chapters. I keep wanting things fast because I watched the show, but this is different. I don’t know who lives, who dies, which new characters appear… maybe Clarke and Bellamy aren’t even right. Let me just enjoy the ride!

h my god… Clarke and Wells were a full-blown couple?? 😳 I know Clarke is mad at him, but Wells, you better tell her what you did to protect her! Nobody’s trying to kill each other yet—which is crazy, because by episode 2 of S1, they were at each other minutes in. Also… if Wells did something to protect Clarke and she forgives him, how are Clarke and Bellamy gonna end up together?? 😭

Okay, so Glass gets pardoned just like that because her mom handled it?? Crazy 😳 I still need to know what she did—please tell me by the end of the book! Luke… I know you still want her. If you knew, you’d forgive her, even if you still love Camille. Also, insane that the co-chancellor pardoned her. Glass surviving? Wild. Don’t mess it up, girl.

kay, the book is definitely different from the show. Bellamy’s flirting already—asking Clarke her relationship status “just to know about all the pretty girls on Earth”? Excuse me, sir 😏 Show Bellamy would never say that right at the start. I’m here hoping for some enemies-to-lovers push and pull, even if it’s not there… but okay, we’ll see.

Okay… so Octavia didn’t need to be hidden under the floor, but having more than one kid is still frowned upon. She got confined for trying to feed hungry kids—fits her character. And yes, I keep comparing to the show 😅 Also… I feel bad for Wells again. Always hated without anyone knowing why. If he dies before Clarke finds out… I’ll be devastated 😭

Not saying a relationship gives you personality, though it can shape you—good or bad—but I’m just shook Wells and Clarke were a couple, or had couple-y hints: holding hands, resting heads on shoulders, forehead kisses, talking first dates… Show Wells is literally rolling around in his grave 😳💀

WTF???? What do you mean they were killing children?? Exposing them to radiation to test if Earth was survivable—CHILDREN?? Why not dying adults? Are you serious right now? Don’t tell me I’m about to hate the parents because I already do. That’s monstrous. I’m genuinely confused and horrified. Experimenting on kids, cutting their lives short for “the greater good”? That’s actually insane. I can’t get past that.

Actually… never mind. I kinda love not knowing. It makes the book feel different from the show, especially since Glass wasn’t in it, and not just The 100 on paper. So take your time, girl—hold onto the mystery. I still get why Luke moved on (you vanished), BUT I’m always down to hate a man if needed. We’ll see 👀

I know, I KNOW—it’s only Chapter 4 and the mystery is intentional. But Glass is new, and with everyone else I at least get the vibe of what they did (Clarke, Bellamy, Wells, etc.). With Glass I’m just like… girl, what happened?? I think that’s why I’m impatient—I have zero frame of reference yet and my curiosity is loud 😭

I still don’t know why you were in confinement. You are literally in your own head for pages. Could you not slip that information into the monologue?? Luke doesn’t know, fine—but I want to know. Help me help you be the sympathetic character here.

Also, I’m sorry, but Luke moving on after six months? That feels… normal? You broke up with him, disappeared, didn’t answer messages, and he didn’t even know you were locked up. I get that you were pining, but he was left completely in the dark.

Glass… girl. I am begging you. If you don’t tell this boy—yes, boy, not man—why you were confined, you’re just going to keep spiraling. You keep saying you need to explain it to Luke, but you’re not explaining it to me, the reader, and that feels criminal.

Okay, before I go into Chapter 5: I still don’t know if I’m going to react to every minor shocking detail or not. Honestly, this feels more like my inner monologue than a real review. I don’t even think anyone reads these, so future me, hello. If anyone does read this, welcome to my unfiltered thoughts and random blabbing.

First of all, it’s good to know that in some ways Bellamy is still Bellamy — book or show, that energy is intact.

Second, I’m about to enter Chapter 4 and… who the hell is Glass? I would love to meet her, and I’m already excited to read her POV. But now I’m wondering — why wasn’t she in the show? 👀

I knew the book would be different from the show, but I wasn’t expecting both of Clarke’s parents to be dead. Interesting choice. Some things are still familiar though (Wells did something, Clarke hates him). Already noticing a lot of differences — and I’m only on page 26.

First note: I did not know there were multiple POVs. I was expecting Clark and maybe Bellamy, but I was not expecting Wells to have a POV — that honestly caught me off guard.

Also… it’s written in third person. I don’t know how I feel about that yet. Still processing.

Here I am, reading another book… even though I already have like six others going at the same time 🙃
But I have to read this one. I have no choice.
The show left Netflix, and now I need to compare.

Wait—they own a bookstore together?? And they’re married?? Stop it. That’s MY dream life 😭📚✨ too adorable.

I just wanna point out that we didn’t even get a big time jump or any wedding for Nate and Stassie 😤 like, if you had shown me the OGs getting married, I’d be fine being blindsided by Russ and Aurora’s 9-year time jump. But NO 😭 no wedding, no warning, just boom—married!! I better hear in this epilogue that Nate and Stassie are happily married with children because I deserve that closure.

Aurora Callahan?? We’re just MARRIED now?? 😭💍 where was my wedding scene, Hannah?? I feel robbed!!
