Lots and lots of character expositions whenever the main character meets someone, I wonder where they’re going with this…

My sister brought home a library book 🙈 and it’s gay 🙈 and a graphic novel 🙈

Oof I forgot how reminiscent of my experience this book is but at the same time when I first read this book I was in high school and the main character is in middle school so it wasn’t too too far for me. Now it kinda is, but I’m keeping on anyways 🙂‍↕️🥲

Ugh I love seeing one of the main characters pov change from being more cynical to hopeful 🥹 like yes bby girl you’re doin ittttt 🙂‍↕️🫶 also I’m loving the 3rd person vs 1st person shifts for the main characters 🙂‍↕️ helps me a lot when I forget to read the chapter titles 🙈

I loooooooove books that have little flashbacks or different storylines/timelines going on AND THEN they reference them in other storylines/timelines 🙈 this is doin it for me :) one of my better death row books fs 🙂‍↕️ might consider adding it to my permanent collection 🙈

Weird but in like a “do some people really think like this?” Kinda way. Makes me glad I grew up with decent social skills and nice friends LOL

I had happily forgotten how awkward they make Colin in this version 😀 he always leaned a lil neurodivergent in the version I like but this is borderline secondhand embarrassment 🥸

I forget how fun this book is, it changes the story enough that you want the details you wouldn’t get in the classic, but it keeps it close to the original characters and their personalities for it to feel genuine :)
