The funniest part of this book is that Dunk is HUGE and a great guy but he is Not Good at Fighting / IS wanting of wit

I liked book one more than book two but I am still enjoying this

Chapter one is scattered and weak. Hope it picks up. Feels more like the writing of a first draft rather than a completed novel

At one point Shelby says “Abigail was a human being, she like, she existed, that’s a fact but John Proctor is just obsessed with this made-up thing.” In reference to JP’s “it is my name” speech - feels insane considering that John Proctor was ALSO a real human being, who didn’t actually have an affair with anyone, and was wrongly accused of and murdered for “witchcraft”

the way you act/think about yourself when you’re trying to get a boy to like you is actually insane and Carrie captures that really well lol

Carrie writes soooo wonderfully about unrequited love, about being nineteen, and with such dry wit - I love her dearly and relate deeply
