Try as I might, I can’t get myself to like Mattias. He went too far with “Has it ever occurred to you that maybe… you weren’t *meant* to exist?”

I swear Bardugo books are like a slow burn. Easing me into the world and story then BAM I can’t put it down. About to start Heartsick.

Leigh Bardugo, the way you write women is top notch ✨

“One minute he made her blush and the next he made her want to commit murder.”
That’s a mood, Inej.

Whatever is going on with Anya… let her. I love how Leigh Bardugo writes feminine rage.

“And I’m starting to think that saying what you want out loud - putting a name to it, letting it be something you stand to lose - makes the joy of having it so much sweeter.”

This is far too relevant for me rip (not complaining)

I don’t really read smut outside of fan fiction. But this… this delivers 😮‍💨

So Eli is partner goals 😳

“You’re incredibly gifted at creating things for other people, Vera. But not everything you do has to be in service of other people.”

Strike two on personal attacks.

“My mother knew how she wanted to die. Ruby knew how she wanted to live. And somewhere in between the two of them, I’d spent the last eighteen years in a holding pattern, waiting for something to happen to me. Waiting for my life to begin.”
………….. Am I too young to feel personally attacked by this?

Vera Stein is a mood too

Now this is a fascinating treasure to find! Can’t wait to read what exactly makes it a treasure.

I know this is Leena’s story and perspective. But I have so many questions about Hari and Callum now…

Okay, the biggest section is done. Hopefully I can finish the rest in the next week before I have to return it to the library.
