I don't do this very often, but I had update my progress. I'm more than halfway through and I'm really struggling at times, but other times I feel very sucked in. My main issue is Nate. Even before the revelation in the L4 lab, he came across as a sociopath, so I'm not really sure how his character is going to be redeemed. I do know that I'm never going to be able to get on board with a romance between these two.

They just got gas, yet there's no electricity. Sigh.
Lots of backstory. Not sure who is who because it was all thrown at me do fast. I'll read a bit further and see if I can keep all these people straight, if not I'm done.

I did not know I was picking up a vampire book. Annoying.

Only at the end of Chapterr two and already James is my hero. I'm not sure I've ever gotten so emotional over something NOT happening.

Book club Wednesday night, so I finally started this today. Just finished "Chapter" one. Smooth sailing so far, looking forward to seeing what happens. I suspect the man in black is Randall Flagg, since I know he appears in these books, but he could be someone similar to Flagg. This does make me want to read The Stand again, though.

I'm on the fence right now. It's an interesting premise, but the writing is very young YA. Not bad, just not what I typically write. We'll see...

I've been so tired that I haven't been able to concentrate on reading. But I'm back at it!

I was definitely intrigued when I heard there was a book that combined The Hunger Games, 1984 & zombies. Starting off decent, but we'll have to see.

Interesting book and story, but much longer than it needed to be. A lot of nothing happening, really. I love post-apocalyptic stories, but I want more going on.

Starting to get into some ridiculous situations and assumptions. A good beta reader would have really helped this.

Listening to the audiobook as we drive. 1st-Boring as hell. Not helping me stay awake. 2nd-Interesting in theory, but just comes off as cheesy. 3rd-Unnecessary dialog tags are glaringly obvious when listening to an audiobook. I swear, every thirty seconds I hear "he says" or "she says." It's really distracting. 4th-Characters are so bland. Not enough personality to make me care.

“Life’s too short for that crap. You should do what you love. Or like. Or can tolerate, at least.”
