STARTED BAPTISM OF FIRE! Enjoying so far. Dandelion is really stupid, my tummy hurts. I hope that… uhm… I hope that Cahir is okay…? That them finding his bloodied mount doesn’t mean he’s toast? We’ll see. They just introduced Emiel Regis and I know about him so that is cool. BRING GERALT, YENNEFER AND CIRI BACK TOGETHER.

FINISHED THE TIME OF CONTEMPT. Fantastic book. Holy, those last two chapters, especially the second last, were AMAZING!!!! Ciri is a fantastic character and I’m so curious to see where this all goes. I really enjoyed Vilgefortz in this novel as well. Great things going on in these books, bless my dad for getting me the box set.

Chapter six was so good, you’re actually kidding me… the unicorn symbolism, and the visions of Falka and the time of contempt befalling those around Ciri… FEED IT TO ME ON A PLATTER, MAN. Cirilla, my Shayla… 😭😭😭.

The Conclave of sorcerer’s and all the fighting and Geralt/Yennefer content that came from that was so crazy. Vilgefortz is SOO good, when he was trying to convince Geralt to join him… the writing of that monologue was peak. Really enjoyed the bit humanizing Cahir after Ciri could neutralize him as well. Very good things so far. Enjoying this book a lot.

Started The Time of Contempt. Where I left off, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri are altogether again, which I am so happy about. Ohhhhhh, my found family…! Also, Dandelion is there. So that’s cool, I guess… I thought the section of chapter two with Ciri and Fabio and the Wyvern was cool.

FINISHED BLOOD OF ELVES!!! I enjoyed it a lot. I loved the final chapter being very Yennefer and Ciri centric. I’ve been talking so much about Geralt being a fatheerrrrr, which is true, but Yennefer is a MOTHER. And it hits especially well because of Yennefer’s backstory. MY TUMMY. Excited for The Time of Contempt.

The fight and scene with Geralt + Philippa at the end of chapter six was sooooo good. Geralt being all pissed off over Yennefer and Ciri, do not start with me!!!! Loved, loved, loved it. When the book said that he was furious and he took his sword right between that guy’s eyes… YUP, YUP!!!!

Really loved some of the visuals in this section I read. The visual of Ciri’s face after the elves’ blood sprayed on her, and the white rose pinned on her pelted with blood drops… very cool. I love Geralt and Yennefer, her letter made me giggle. Visibly scrunched up my face at Dandelion’s return… do NOT show him to me…

When the dwarf asked if Ciri was Geralt’s, and Geralt was just like “Mine.” HE IS A MOTHER 😭😭.

Who the hell let these stupid fucking Witchers raise a little girl, man… it’s over 😭😭😭.

You know the book is going to be good when they’re already torturing Dandelion in the first chapter. Get him again, get him for me.

Definitely feels like I am in the home stretch of this book now. The Judge looking around the plains and stuff for The Kid and saying that The Ex-Priest had clouded his mind and what not was really tense. I saw talk of the judge in the keywords/titles for the next chapter, after “Under Arrest”, so I’m nervous to see what will happen if The Kid is arrested and he finds him.

In some chapters, The Kid doesn’t even matter. I find that really interesting. Like, he was alone for a large chunk of the pages I read since my last update, trying to join up with the army party again, so of course he mattered there. But much of the latter half of what I read was focused on Glanton, or The Judge, or just… not The Kid. I find that very, very intriguing, as I said.

This has continued to be very visual while it gets more graphic and disturbing. It isn’t an in your face type of disturbing, not in the typical sense of the word, at least, but the feeling I get when I finish each chapter is a very deep pit in my stomach. Following such a cruel bunch of characters in an interesting read. I am made uncomfortable by the Judge still.

The Judge is so freakish. And mysterious, and unsettling. I find it very curious that apparently ALL of the men in the company claim that they’ve met him before now. Quite an ugly visual for him. A man so collected (I use that term loosely) normally, but he can do just about anything… very, very odd. I am enjoying the story so far. The scene with the cards being read was quite interesting.

Interesting so far, and very visual. I like the uniqueness of the way it’s written. I always enjoy this sort of setting for a book, so I’m interested to move forward in the story and see where it goes. Reading in tandem with my mother!

i think i said it’s getting serious in my last progress update but it’s getting SERIOUSLY SERIOUS now… like… 😭😭. I like henry a lot…. I like him more as the story goes on but my favourite is still francis i think

i just know this is gonna be a book where i’m stupid in love with every character. i know this because i’m not even 50 pages in and it’s already happening. henry is a bit of a dick it seems but idgaf🤷‍♀️

got to the end of part two… what the hell are we supposed to do now.

the more i read of this book the more ben affleck playing joe in the adaptation makes no sense… however… i’ll be hopeful
