Too short! Had this book been many times as long, I would happily have kept reading. "Story of a man who spends most of his life essentially trapped in a Moscow hotel" is far too simple a description. Count Rostof is a man I wish I knew, a man who triumphs--without fanfare--over pettiness, jealousy and perhaps cruelty and brings the reader joy in watching the sport. Bravo Amor Towles.
