I am now on the seventh chapter of this book and as someone who has never studied the historically-critical approach to the Bible it has covered so many crucial topics regarding the biblical historicity. As someone who was raised baptist, a lot already has shocked me just as the author John Barton himself expects but nevertheless, I hope to gain even more insight into these academic debates while finishing the book.
