Really enjoying the poems in this, particularly Part Two
pg 52 “Drop Your Guard” my favorite thus far:
The hardest part of boxing,
For me, was not the punching
Or being punched
Or the dancing
But holding up my hands
For three minutes at a time.
Defending yourself
Constantly
Is exhausting.
Any relationship
Where you can drop your guard
Is sacred.
