This book... honestly not sure what to think just yet, even though I'm halfway through. This is my first Stephen King book, and it's an odd one to start with it, but I've been drawn to this series for a while. It is intriguing, weird, strange, confusing, and depressing all at once, but what I can say is I am inclined to read more and keep going.

I absolutely love where this leaves off and what it sets up for the rest of the series. God, what a writer Ruocchio is. I've heard this is the weakest entry, and if that's true, I'm in for quite the ride with the Suneater series.

Absolutely loving this and it's such a slow burn. The prose is beautiful but digestible, and the philosophy presented is super intriguing and feels naturally inserted by the situations Hadrian finds himself in, whether thrust upon him or by his own doing. Cannot wait to finish this one and get further in the series
