I’m beginning to think this isn’t the dark romance mafia book I thought it was going to be 🙈
Loving the sections of ‘Day 1’, ‘Day 2’ etc.

Finally a realistic side of fantasy for a woman; monthly problems. If only our monthlies could be handled with elixirs /SOBBING

I gave up on the TV Show when Henry Cavill left so now I’m back to the books since I’m also too stupid to play the games (no, legit. I cannot. The games are too hard for me).
Having coming from reading books with bite-sized chapters… this is a different vibe … the chapters are longer than I’m used to /SOBBING

Someone convince me to read this book. The first one was great! I loved it! But this one? It’s not gripping me. It has its moments. But it’s more bland than anything. The chapters are unnecessarily lengthy in description (in my opinion). Maybe this is my sign to DNF? I’ll keep reading until I’ve finished Part 1 and see where I’m at. I just feel bad because everyone loves this book… and I don’t 😭

Well so far one of my predictions from reading the first book have come true. Hashtag called it.

This is such a super cute and easy read so far!

Slightly annoyed by it for various reasons BUT I’m still enjoying it regardless.

Oooh I’ve already laughed, and felt the feels… and I’m only 100 or so pages in…

Knocking points off my review for this book because it’s making me hungry for cakes and pastries 😡
(Joking!!).
But reading tip; definitely have a warm beverage and a cake or pastry when reading this book 🤌🏼

Can’t wait to read more! This seems a nice ‘n’ cozy read after finishing such an intense and heavy book yesterday 🥺🫶🏼

Started this book a few days ago. It’s raw poetry and it’s uncomfortably beautiful.

Of course I have to go to work when the plot is plotting 😭

…Okay, I’m starting to like the book. Maybe that’s because I just finished a spicy chapter 🤣🙈🌶️

No, but for real… it’s okay. It’s not re-readable but it’s keepable for a re-read in a few years time.

I’ve warmed up to Kingfisher for sure. But again. It’s probably the size of the eggplant that’s gotten my attention 🤣💀

I was so close to DNF’ing. But I pushed through. I don’t like the girl (I forgot her name already) but I did snicker at a few of Kingfisher’s lines.

Technically I’ve ‘read’ four chapters already, but I was listening to it on Spotify months ago. So rather than start from Chapter 4, I figured I might refresh and just start from Chapter 1.

Loving that there’s a page for pronunciations of names.

Love that each chapter is individually titled. I love books that have this!

Sobbing! Sobbing! SOBBING! I should’ve known better than to read the next chapter at work!

It should be illegal to end a chapter with the word ‘Tragedy’.

I’ve technically finished it and can’t wait to review! I’m just reading the preview to ‘The Serpent & The Wings of Night’

This is the perfect read for when you want something fantasy but isn’t overwhelming. I love that it’s a standalone while also within the verse.
It really does make me want to read the actual series! But alas, it does not contain these two characters I don’t think.
