I just don’t think there is any need for them to be love interests. Not to mention she appears to be 15.

If I have to read Door’s eyes described as opals one more time!

Trying to think critically about Richard’s perception of women and Gaiman’s representation of women…. Haven’t come up with much.

It would be a lot easier to admire this writing style if I knew absolutely nothing about Neil Gaiman.

I’m intrigued.

Relieved that the books we’ve read for this class so far haven’t been dense

I know I don’t need to say it because it’s glaringly obvious and everyone else surely sees it too, but I’m going to anyway: Poseidon is a groomer and pedophile.

Procrastinating the reading I’m supposed to do for class.

So far, this is much better than The Enchanted Castle.

Of course, since this novel was written in 1907, there are some aspects of the story that don’t stand the test of time. The most recent thing I’ve found is this child (Gerald) saying “When I marry, I’ll marry a dumb girl, or else get the ring to make her so that she can’t speak unless she’s spoken to.” Great, Gerald. Thank you for sharing.

I can’t wait for this to be over.

This is a fun read so far, but there are a few tropes happening that I don’t love. I’m hoping a character (literally any character) will soon acknowledge a very glaring age gap.

The semester has started and so begins my fight to continue reading for fun and not just for school.

Mildly depressing, I say as someone who has a full-time job. But very well written and intriguing.

Because I love my new kindle but can’t utilize it fully because I don’t want to spend any money and the library doesn’t carry an e-book version of everything, I’m living for the free samples. And once I finish the free sample on kindle, I open the hard copy I’ve already rented from the library.
