I’m struggling. The slow writing and constant POV switching is really throwing me. Five chapters later I’m like… wait, who even was that and what did they want?? 😅 I want to stick with it because this was ranked #1 on Goodreads thrillers last year, but right now I’m not sure how I’m going to push through. Hoping it all clicks soon… because I need a payoff here.

About 20% in, and I’m struggling. The writing feels so clunky and juvenile. I’ve heard many incredible things so I’m hoping it gets better. I guess I’m pushing on cautiously, but right now, it’s more effort than enjoyment.

Chapter 6 was a masterpiece!! Highly recommend listening on Audible - the narrator absolutely nails the kids’ voices. So, so good!
