Lizzie is not going to give up those diamonds as long as she lives. Frederic is not going to marry her, outcasting to her society though I believe Frederic will not be as bad off as he believes he will. I am very happy with the pairing between Lucy and Frank, I believe they will be a good, loving couple. However, I do not like Lizzie’s attachments to Frank, I believe she may try and take him as her own afterwards.

I love the comparison between the engagements of Lucy and Lizzie. Lucy is proposed to out of awe and love, Frank sacrificing a cozy life in favor of being with the woman he loves. Lizzie on the other hand accepts a proposal given to her, hoping it will get the lawyers off her ass and give her the power she lacks while Frederick is merely looking for riches and a beautiful wife, not someone to love.

The marriage between Frederik and Lizzie is an awful decision. They are each others opposites with Frederik being honest to a fault and Lizzie weaving herself a web of lies that most can see through. I definitely do not fault Lizzie for trying as hard as she can to keep her status and money for herself but she needs to get her facts straight first lest she be caught. I am sure this engagement will fall through.

- Miss Macnulty is definitely going to betray Lizzie and be the cause of the diamonds’ theft
- Let Lucy love who she wants😭 even if that man doesnt deserve her
- I felt for Lucy during her argument with Lord Fawn, it is hard to argue when a man automatically assumes you ignorant and too stupid to understand his reasoning and is extremely frustrating when he himself is just as or more ignorant

I quite like Lizzie. I think she is strong and independent and would have been generally liked if she was a man. I definitely believe she might make trouble for herself and maybe Lucy, but I also believe she is the best friend Lucy could have. I hope that Lizzie stays financially independent and Lucy learns that she can find love.

That is a lot to go through in one year.

I am actually more excited to read this book after reading the introduction than I was beforehand.

I don't usually like introductions but I like this one.

The first couple pages were pretty difficult to get through. I got second-hand embarrassment from the writing style but it is starting to get a bit better now. I think any of the writing that pertains to sex in any way will be too cringe-worthy to read through.

The part on jealousy felt more like i was reading through someone’s journal than an actual book

i’m glad i picked this book up again

I’m interested to see how Piranesi got into the house and who this 16 is to him

poor Anna, i’m afraid of why she will do to herself

Anna is on the brink of a full mental break and I fear for everyone when that happens. I am glad Levin and Kitty are doing well and able to talk through their fights simply and easily and hopefully they’ll stay happy but everyone just seems so anxious and on-edge. I wonder if it’s Tolstoy projecting :/

I love Levin and Kittys storyline, I think Levin is pretty relatable 💀

I hate Alexei Alexandrovich and Countess Lydia for telling Seryozha that Anna was dead, they caused his little 9 year old self so much suffering for their own disgusting pleasure. Also Anna is suffering so much i fear for her future especially if she and Vronsky keep shutting each other out

- I love that Tolstoy’s favorite quote is basically When in doubt, don’t (very relatable)
- Countess Lydia is a bisexual queen who needs to let anna see her son
- Countess Lydia and Alexei Alexandrovich will have an affair i guarantee it
- Kitty has quickly become my favorite character

I have a feeling Levin and Kitty will end up getting together

it seems like the thought that the working class is “inherently lazy” has always been thought by those in better predicaments :/

i love levins farming adventures and think he should be more proud of himself for the agreement he implemented

i understand levins newfound fear and overwhelming though of death looming over him while he has the imminent death of his brother staring him in the face. it’s scary

i really don’t like alexei alexandrovich, i don’t blame anna for wanting to get away from him

I wish I had the detached decision making linked to my expenses like vronsky does (with the income of his brother)

I get where she’s coming from in regards to marriage

i cant believe gilmore girls semi-spoiled the ending for me 😔 and the whole thing about the cases alexei alexandrovich was talking about seemed very random and like something tolstoy was just very passionate about and wanted to fit in somewhere

I think Levin and Kitty just need to talk it out

i fully understand Levin and his wish to stay out of stuff and the very lovers esque relationship of Kitty and Veranka? is amazing, i hope they continue interacting

also gilmore girls spoiled the ending for me😭
