Absolutely loving the cheeky little Edinburgh references scattered throughout - places (Leet, Mournside, The Meadows, Lestalric) and more importantly pubs (the (old) chain pier and Starbank inn).

Second attempt with this book and I think I’m going to have to give it up again. The whiny, all-knowing voice of the whisp is really not helping.

Getting seriously fed up with this book, and the series. It is just so slow paced and dull. I'm now in speed reading mode to just get it done.

This reads different. I would put money on this being written by someone else based on notes sketched out by Kong. Just a completely different feel to it. Either that or book 7 really drained him of any remaining passion for the series and it’s now just a chore.
