Slow and steady 🤑

Erm i read 100 pages of this book in one sitting the other day and it was fantastic

Love this book

Not a lot of movement this past week but the grind resumes now

Buddy read with my girlfriend! We're doing 2 chapters a week but i want to go faster

Running it back!!! Doing this in book club with other IV sophomores

I listened to the Andy Serkis narrated audiobook for a bit this morning and i have decided that I need Andy Serkis to sing a silly little song about me in his Sam voice at my funeral

I didn't expect this to act like a Lispector book but here i am with the narrator, the ghost of her dead husband, and several questions

There was a hard mood shift after someone died and I felt it to my bones

back in the good old days where one glass of brandy/cognac/prosecco/wine made everybody friends

How's the war effort going lad

I really hope I finish this before I land

This book rocks

This line gave me physical chills:

"His drunkenness sometimes moved like this, unaccompanied. Eager to keep itself alive."

8/84 "Letters to Hermengrado"

She's explaining how her passion distracts from her piety, but also she seems to enjoy denying herself of those pleasures. She tells her pen pal to build a "monument to unsatisfied desires," like music you don't hear and cigarettes you don't smoke, because if you never start them then they'll never end, and anticipation is the best part.

7/84 "Excerpt"

I love this section. Flora is extremely relatable as she worries away and sinks into amusing intrusive thoughts. I feel seen by the way she resists being kind to the man who left her waiting but ends up caving in because she wanted to see him. I really love that she feels like a prop or a self-aware piece of fiction, so actively aware of her existence.
