Call me a buzz kill but the Toot Toot/Lacuna thing isn't cute or funny. Pursuing someone who doesn't want you after they have clearly communicated their lack of interest is wrong whether it's people or faerie creatures. (And no, just because faeries and vampires regularly do it to Harry does not excuse it).

DNFing at page 189. I really enjoyed the writing at first and found it really clever but unfortunately it's now only tedious. There have been also several instances of factual inaccuracies that I'm not certain were on purpose or not. I really don't understand the structure of stories among little mini-essays and anecdotes.

In what way does learning this agent's life improve the story. I was shocked when a character thought about how everything had happened in a couple of hours.

Pausing at 55% because Simon told me to. I'm not ready for the rest.

Putting down for now. Really valuable but I'm exhausted by American politics. I do wish this had a more global approach.

Ashley is 27% done with The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
DNFing at 27%, I'm bored. I strongly feel like the best this book would get if I finished is 3 stars and I don't want to bother. Reading some reviews I see some of them have commented on some of my biggest issues so far so I don't believe they will be addressed to my satisfaction.

boo hoo, I can't quit because of health insurance. You can afford private care. You don't want to miss out on the IPO millions.

"Usually when Facebook releases new features, once the code is pushed there's not a lot of thought to the real-world consequences" No shit
The struggle in this is for the reader to put themselves back in the early mindset of internet optimism, with hindsight we know how horrible many of these initiatives have turned out. The author is depicting herself as the only one ringing alarm bells but not her culpability.

Ashley is 46% done with Interview with the Devil (The Devil Universe Book 1)
DNF at 46%. There were some compelling moments of religious horror at the beginning but then became blitheringly pathetic author self-insert. This is the guy who thinks he’s the smartest person in the room and has sapiosexual in his dating profile but everyone dreads being stuck in a conversation with him.
