Thirsty as a sign of rabies? What? It's characterized by hydroPHOBIA. A wildlife rescuer would know that and correct someone saying that.

Struggling, I should LOVE this. There are so many factors that scream Ashley- the wildlife rehabber loving animals more than people, the witchcraft 'with teeth' instead of love and light, the frequent appearance of the Devil and the opposition of Christianity. But I'm struggling to care and finding myself frustrated.

"It doesn't have to make sense. Serial killers don't sense. They never have, and they never will" - FBI agent in charge talking to an agent in the Behavioural Analysis division... isn't the whole fucking point of profiling that there is sense?

I really really don't want to DNF but I'm constantly annoyed. I need more torturing and killing of bad men, please.

DNFing at 37% I'm already annoyed by this man and according to reviews he only gets worse in the second half. I suppose his mission but I get the feeling he's personally a dick.

I don't understand men like this. Recount spending most of the year, for many years, in remote jungles, chasing his dream, not knowing how he can make a living, worried about being a failure, then offhandedly referencing a wife at home living with your parents.

Might put this down for a bit. Very repetitive.

Halfway in and I'm still not getting the hype behind this book.

DNFing at 46%- I've really enjoyed PRK's Say Nothing and Empire of Pain but this feels like too small of a story to be worthy of a whole book. A bunch of shady people met each other and some bad things happened, but unlike the two previously named titles in which bad people do bad things, this lacks a greater societal impact. This should have been an essay.

DNF @ 40% I like the concept and world here, but almost every time I listen to the audio I turn it off annoyed.

Starting this knowing that it may add fuel to an ongoing existential crisis...

I'm not sure if I've ever encountered a character in fantasy that has as good of an arc as Malta.

nothing wrong with this only my library loan is ending and this isn't compelling enough to make me binge listen nothing but this for my 2 days left.

If it had been two days earlier, her argument would have sounded to my ears like some heathen talk. But compared to atheism and homosexuality, women's rights didn't seem wuite so outrageous.

1) this book is great 2) audio is especially so as it is a woman telling her story.

Ever have a book that you love immediately? This one feels like that.
