When an author is working with a vague and inconsistent magic system, they tend to end up introducing new rules at the last minute in order to magic away problems. Currently feeling very disjointed and awkward - I fear we are about to devolve into a series of fetch quests, which I hate almost as much as a vague and inconstant magic system💀
