So far most informative. It is the mix, oddly for me, of racist attitudes that fueled the business of enslavement, of the desire for religious conversion of those so bound, and then the anti-slavery efforts of the late 17th and early 18th century. Thus far in this historical account, there is no escaping the full captivity, pardon the pun, of the culture and its ideas to racist views.
