So much history here with the sad realization that ideas have practical consequences.

So far most informative. It is the mix, oddly for me, of racist attitudes that fueled the business of enslavement, of the desire for religious conversion of those so bound, and then the anti-slavery efforts of the late 17th and early 18th century. Thus far in this historical account, there is no escaping the full captivity, pardon the pun, of the culture and its ideas to racist views.

Great introduction to the practicalities and conceptualizations that prompted the shift from Articles of Confederation to Constitution.

First part was history with observations as to lessons learned. Rather eager to see what guidance he suggests for the emerging world of relationships between both state and non-state actors.

Quite a good read, as it is more than history alone but also a conversation with the text.

Quite a compelling read of the practical and idealistic issues facing those pondering the question of independence:
