genuinely what is the purpose of this? nothing is happening. there’s like a little wisp of theme tossed in, but it’s so severely underdeveloped that it doesn’t matter. all this feels like what would normally be exposition, except we’re ALMOST DONE WITH THE BOOK?? the length of this is js marketing. it should have been combined with the 2nd and maybe 3rd volumes

how in the world does this have above a 4.0… it’s so very YA i am losing my MIND. we are almost half way through, and i still don’t care about any of these characters. one singular scene in which i empathized with anyone. come to think of it, all characterization is just based on her relationship with her sister. and not in a cool way.

unbearably YA, very edgy tumblr girl. not really a fan of how it’s relentlessly portraying addicts as evil, but it’s still early and i’m hoping for this to be the set up for thematic development & character growth. if there is no character growth, i’m giving this 1 star
