starting to think i might not know enough about theodore roethke for this

hey guys this book is actually so awesome. it’s just the perfect book. a love letter to weird little girls

this book demonstrates a violent disregard for therapist/patient boundaries the likes of which i havent seen since reading chaim potok’s “the promise”

this book has everything. HWCs. kidnapped great grandmas. extremely long sentences that are technically not run ons because the author knows comma rules but that still piss me off. what more could a guy ask for

every time i read the phrase “dark haired maiden” a little more of my soul dies. i do suppose having entire sections of your book reappear is a good way to pad the run time

the person who told me to read this book loaned me their copy which they have only notated by underlining every time the main character shoves food in Ozu’s mouth which i thjnk is indicative of the (complete lack of) thoughtfulness with which they recommended this book to me

claire is one of the perhaps least likable narrators i’ve ever encountered in a book but i understand her narrative purpose so it’s. fine i guess
