I'm so confused by one of the characters explaining how live music is different from music played through a radio broadcast because when the music is coming out of a radio, it's "all around us and our brains just tune in to listen to it"? What? Do you mean that we can tune the radio to the right frequency to listen to the broadcast? The radio produces the same soundwaves as an orchestra would. You know that, right?

To be totally honest, I still don't think Dan Brown is a very good writer. Seems like he can come up with great stories and plot lines, he's just not very good at telling them. The cheap, "she said something that changed everything" cliffhangers are more annoying than addicting, all the characters are boring and think the exact same way and the way he writes women is really weird from time to time

The Golem is probably my least favourite character. "I shall protect her", "I shall take revenge on everyone that tried to harm her". Okay buddy, we get it. Can we move on now?

Having read a little bit more, I have to take back some of my negativity. It's been a long while since I've read a purely plot driven book. I still think the writing is very monotone and the characters are, well, not well written. It was clear from page 2 that Robert Langdon is just a self-insert. But the plot is very fast-paced and the simple writing makes it easier to follow.
