Iida is 16% done with All the Way to the River

So far, I'm not a fan. I don't really like this idea of "we were all put onto this earth intentionally to learn a lesson we otherwise wouldn't have" - and maybe my soul just isn't evolved enough - but I don't like how it romanticises abuse and war, among other things.
I also don't like this "woe is me, I'm too good of a person" attitude. But I'm hoping the book will manage to change my mind on that.

I have such mixed feelings about this book. I just read a scene so confusing and out of place I genuinely thought I had accidentally skipped ahead while flipping pages. But, at the same time, I am genuinely interested in what happens next.
