ok i know no one cares but once i finish Elektra, im gonna finish Outlander (book 1 of the series at least). then im gonna give “Happy Land” by Dolen Perkins-Valdez my undivided attention bc she’s one of my fav authors & im absolutely geeked to read her newest release!! and that’ll give me 3 more achievements for the seasonal challenge 🤓☝🏻 wish me luck

i thought i was gonna have to stop reading “outlander” completely once i decided to try and participate in the goodreads seasonal challenges this year. i paused my reading of it back around new years so i could focus instead on the books in the challenge. but the new goodreads challenge dropped & outlander is on there!! woohoo 🥳

just picked up two new books from the library today :) but i’m going to force myself to finish the two books i’ve already started first lol

just requested a hold on “happy land” by dolen perkins-valdez !! her book “take my hand” shook me to my core & made me fall back in love with historical fiction, so i’m really looking forward to reading this. happy black history month everybody & happy reading! 📖🩷

i love books that explore alternate perspectives of known stories or times in history. like the way the Nightingale explores the lives of women left behind during WWII rather than focusing on the soldiers , how Percival Everett explores Jim’s POV from huckleberry fin in James, and now i’m reading Elektra which explores the lives of the wives and daughters of greek mythology. my niche fr

i wish i remembered / knew more abt greek mythology i feel like this would be so much better if i did. i only remember a little bit of the Odyssey & the story of Achilles, and that little bit of knowledge makes this so much more interesting. it got SUPER good yall this is 4.5 stars so far !!

i’m normally not drawn to greek mythology but i’m giving this a shot 🙂‍↕️💗 so far it’s easy to read & i like the female perspective :)

well this snowy weather is keeping me inside this weekend so i wasn’t able to get to the library to get my new book, but i have been working a lot on a crocheted baby blanket for my soon to be born nephew! it’s coming out so cute ☺️ but hopefully i get get to the library tmrw :)

my book is ready to be picked up at the library, so i’m going to try and finish “tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow” tonight so i can return it when i get my next one tmrw :) get abt 90 pages to go. wish me luck!

honestly i was hating before i really like this book ! i still think the pace is too slow for me to love but the character development was perfect and as a socali girly i love the southern california setting. and anyone who says this is anti climatic hasn’t gotten to the second half bc wow 😢

this is a good book, just a little bit too slow of a pace for me to enjoy personally but i’d recommend this to any gamers for sure! it’s a fictional story based on a group of game makers & explores the intimacy shared between people who game together / make games together.

okay this story is really cute but i am strugglinggg to get through this 😅 i feel so unmotivated to finish. i really relate to Sadie’s character & i love the other characters and the setting it’s a good book im just not loving it

good book if you’re a gamer or love a gamer !! also this authors vocabulary is next level

you know when a book has two different story lines going and switches stories each chapter? that usually drives me crazy but emily henry did that w this book and im equally obsessed with both stories a 5 star read already

i finally figured out how to make a status update lol hiiii friends ☺️💗 i have been super busy working & trying to finish crocheting everyone’s Christmas stockings in time (i’ve finished everyone else’s, now i’m working on mine which will complete the set!) so i haven’t been able to read. Hope you’re all enjoying this Christmas season!

this book is definitely for mature (18+) readers so i don’t recommend to my younger friends on here. but for my adult friends omggggg this is SO good yall. there’s a few r rated i guess u could say scenes lol but it isn’t anything too intense just leading up to it if that makes sense & i really appreciate that as some who avoids spice. love the fantasy / historical fiction / romance fusion 5 stars so far !!

only was able to get a little bit of reading in today but tmrw i’ll lock in 🤓

my whole social media feed has turned into scottish castle renovations and “things to do in scotland” since i’ve begun reading this book. it’s becoming an obsession lol. i seriously am obsessed with scotland’s history & beauty now, i really want to visit there someday!! oh to be a time traveling nurse living in a scottish castle

read a bit yesterday bc i called in sick from work. i’ve got a cold so im resting lots. might read more today we shall see :) i loveeee this book. i love when authors are able to make you think about the story / characters throughout the day. i also love that the words are spelled to convey the scottish accents! makes it so fun

my husband works 3rd shift so he sleeps during the day. today when i got home from work i took a nice shower, had a snack, put on my comfy pjs and laid next to him in bed while i read todays chapter. it’s 50 degrees outside & cloudy so it was perfectttt and im loving this book!!
