This book is so tedious. It's obvious whatever happened between Wyatt and Matthias was because of secrets and misunderstandings. One keeping secrets (Matthias), and the other being intentionally obtuse (Wyatt). I know Wyatt is supposed to be quirky, but it comes across as infantile. It's obvious where this story is going, too.

Spencer and Kendrick's dynamic is weird AS FUCK, but I'm into it. Even as an asexual person, I usually dont want to read about asexual people, but this book my be changing my mind.

Marcus's dumb azz mother thinking she can guilt Marcus's father into doing anything when it hasn't worked for 22 years....

Ugh, Marcus's mother...no one will understand why I hate her so much, but I swear to gawd I have a good reason. Actually, Marcus has a good reason, he's just not using it.

OK, back on this book without the audiobook - Marcus's mom is TRASSSSSHHHHHHHH.

Marcus's mother is trash. Had a baby with a man who didn't want to be with her in any kind of significant way. Fine. Trying to make a man who is THE ABSOLUTE WORST be an active parent when he hasn't for 7 years before then is BIRD BEHAVIOR.

Scratch that. I dislike his entire family.

1% in and the MC's mom is already irritating me.

The omega MC feeling bad that the guy he's no interested in is possessive over him is, and thought he was seeing someone else... it gives me the ick. Like, not just for the characters, but towards the author as well.

I have a feeling I'm going to DNF this.

It's official. I DO NOT like Michael Dean's voice acting just as much as I do not like Joel Leslie's.

Where Joel makes everyone sound like a geriatric Thurston Howell, Michael makes everyone sound like a 1950s military propaganda announcer.

Benji's sister is actually an awful person. Not only is she using him, trying to be in influencer, but she's been emotionally manipulative since they were kids. She wouldn't even let him grieve over the fact he doesn't have a dad in his life.

I don't want them to reconcile. I want them to go no-contact.

Really want to DNF this. I'm so into angst over past transgressions and one of the MCs having to grovel a bit to get the other to listen to their apology, but there's a lot of stubbornness and "I don't understand why he hates me, even though I betrayed him in the worst ways imaginable *SAD FACE*" going on. Oh, and forced proximity on the part of the offender.

-MC w/brother spent childhood on the road w/mother not in picture.

The author should have removed the last 2 things and I would have never known for sure that this was SPN fic.

I'm listening to the audiobook, and I'm already kinda grossed out.

This firefighter, in the middle of rescuing a child, is thinking about how hot the mom is in her leggings, crying over her son (who is OK, but still).

Am I supposed to like the MC? Because this isn't helping. I'm already close to DNFing.

There are a LOT of aspects of this book that make it hard to be immersed in the story. Like, Sen fell on Kai's dick with his whole body, and there was barely a reaction.

Kai accosts Sen in the shower like a maniac when Sen is trying to leave and jokes about his injured dick. Predator shit.

Later on, Kai throws a taco at Sen, which explodes its taco goodness all over, and they just laugh it off. The taco DIED.

Serena was garbage before things even went to hell. Wow. I mean, who tf has picnics on frozen lakes?
