ok so maybe this is kinda fun. but the romance is uhh.. not for me and even though this is only book 1 of a series, i’m not sure how much can be done in 50 pages to come to a somewhat clean ending

arc from work. i think that i’m going to hate it.

this may be the most confusing thing i have ever read.

i was always under the impression this was haha funny not absurdist funny and it is a bit of a slog

despite how much i am enjoying this so far, i dont think im built for 800 page books

it did the thing where the last 50 pages are the most interesting thing ive ever read and now i expeditiously need the second book, which i will probably end up complaining about

im really confused and should probably start the book over but i dont think i want to read any of this again

going down the path where wanting to know a specific outcome is no longer worth it simply because i disagree with the series of events that has led to this point.

how is this a triology. there is like. nothing happening. i just want to find out how a specific trope ends at this point

my favorite part of listening to these audio books is hearing spike from buffy the vampire slayer (james marsyers) do the roadrunner meep meep

i think this is a dnf for now. i cant be bothered to care and i have other library holds ready.

love the story, forgot how absolutely boring the writing makes it

i think i kinda feel the same way i felt about the adventures of amina al-sarafi in that there’s a lot happening and i don’t quite understand how there can still be so much story left. it’s not a bad story, i enjoy it, but i think if i wasn’t listening to an audiobook on 1.5x with such an immersive narrator, i would not be willing to continue.

i remember this being significantly better about 5 years ago
