I so want Sophie not to be the villain. (If this doesn’t go the way I want it to, I may have to take this loosely as a prompt and write out a different version.)

This is cute, I’m enjoying the setting and the whole concept of modernizing a witching school, and the magic system feels very realistic. I would be curious to learn more, in perhaps another book, from the perspective of other magical beings mentioned like sirens and demons. The romance though, while the premise is really cute, feels both too slow and too fast at the same time?

I’m enjoying how casually the book uses a terms like ace-spec, allo, comp-het, etc without over-explaining them. It’s cool to hear familiar terms without feeling like it needs to come with a tagline for the majority. It fits with Angela’s experience. I relate to not wanting to explain and simultaneously worrying people won’t understand. I love how Krystal does her own research to understand Angela better.
