This was the perfect book to pick up after crying through all of Atmosphere (TJR). Very different tone obv, but so similar in themes. Women in STEM, lesbian couple, traumatic event exploring the unknown (this one deep sea rather than outer space). I truly have no idea where this story is going overall, but so far Leah and Miri are filling a void shaped like Joan and Vanessa for me.
