This will likely be my first 5-star read of 2026 that isn’t a reread. It’s the first book that instantly hooked me, and I have not wanted to put down. Everything I love in a fantasy romance so far including an FMC that makes annoyingly stupid decisions at the beginning.

Honestly, fighting to finish this. I have loved other books by this author, but this one isn’t hooking me.
