An interesting description of the historical and intellectual process of the development of Freuds psychoanalytic work. An Autobiographical study elaborates on Freuds beginnings, specifically his earlier academic interests, and cooperation with individuals such as Breur who was incidental to the early discovery of the treatment direction in psychoanalysis.

Having watched the film before reading the book(of which I am still in the process), I find the in depth exploration of Robert’s personal life and character creation intriguing. Although the book muddles throughout the different people, physicists, friends, and others that were apart of Roberts life, It still finds a way to keep the reader captivated in what is to follow for the American Prometheus.
