Still pretty awesome, I think a cpl chapters in the first arc, and a chapter or two in the current arc have been the only times I didn't constantly want to keep reading.

While the first chapter or two was a bit slow, it quickly picked up and became quite enjoyable. Looking forward to what happens next

Summary so far: Kal's a right bastard.

Not sure if it was my mood when reading or not, but while it's gotten a bit better after the half way mark, I really really didn't like the first parts too much, seemed to in large parts center around the things I've felt have been the weak points of the earlier books in this and the other book-series.

I'm liking it so far, dark (though not quite as bleak as some of Abercrombies books, at least not so far).

I'm starting to think this isn't quite my type of book. While interesting, the whole "Magical realism" thing and rather meandring storytelling makes it hard to grasp on to any one thread or person. I assume it might've worked better if I knew more of Colombian history which it shadows.
