academic weapon fr 💪

i’ve been at this cafe for HOURS w my friend. my brain is turning to mush. i want to go to sleep 😵‍💫

did my courses start a month ago ? yes ! have i done any assignments for them yet ? no !

i hope you’re excited for more required reading updates on here😛

“temporary and constantly changing human relationships which never come from the heart” ugh so real

my new book to read on break at work !! i met the author at a market and she seems really sweet so im excited to read this story !

him blackmailing and threatening her job as way to get her to go out w him is insane.

“sometimes people do exactly what you think they’re going to do, and they still manage to disappoint you” real.

“i used to know hai fave so well, even better than my own”

are the parents in on it ?? i love the writing of this book bc genuinely everyone seems suspicious so it’s keeping me on my toes

UHM HELLO !? HES SO SUSPICIOUS AND WEIRDDDDD

guys this book is so good im hooked

a spoiler but i need to document my prediction for this story:

i think shane didn’t try to kill her, i think tim did

my new book to read while i tan !! s/o to my manager for lending it to me

not them hooking up in a CHURCH

ew sorry i hate the word “daddy” in a sexual way and the fact he referred to himself as that actually took me right out of the scene

this is the perfect summer book to read while i’m tanning. i’m obsessed

omg bleachers mention !! missing calgary w christine 🥰

he’s dead. how is there still almost 300 pages left

actually got chills

mini spoiler warning !

the way their friend trusted them w the knowledge of his daily life and movement patterns just for those he trusts most and whom he’s closest
with to just use that knowledge against him is so terrifying. especially w how richard mentioned bunny isnt doing anything supper different. but now they’ve killed the stranger they’re open to killing whoever is so scary

shocking ! another character makes a sexist comment !

“love doesn’t conquer everything. and whoever thinks it does is a fool”

“of course i didn’t see this crucial moment then for what it was; i suppose we never do”

omg henry referencing paradise lost (a book about the fall of man) is crazy. now that im rereading this book im noticing so many details and references that foreshadow what is to come and it just makes me love this book even more.
also crazy coincidence i just marked paradise lost as want to read bc i watched a video essay on the fall of man and they discussed how good that book was

“i too appear as something of a stranger in these early memories” UGH I LOVE THIS BOOK SM

“easy to see why the romans … persecuted the christians mercilessly - how absurd to think a common criminal had risen from the dead, how appalling that his followers celebrated him by drinking his blood. the illogic of it frightened them and they did everything they could to crush it ... i think the reason they took such drastic steps was because they were not only frightened but also terribly attracted to it”

“even more terrible, as we grow older, to learn that no person, no matter how beloved, can ever truly understand us. our own selves make us most unhappy, and that’s why we’re so anxious to lose them”

“i am nothing in my soul if not obsessive”
so iconic.

“i don’t think i can explain the despair my surroundings inspired in me” UGH i forgot how much i love the language used thought this book. the feeling of love for donna tartt is quickly creeping back into me

was i 92% done this book ? yes ! am i restarting it bc i don’t remember what happened ? yes !
i was hooked on this book a few of years ago but never finished it (shocker !) so i’m going to reread it
