Not what I was expecting but better. It’s more sad than I would have thought. The author has made me care deeply for Ove and that causes the sadness to increase as I read. I think part of that is a concern for the desire for a happy ending. Will that happy ending be for me or for Ove? Because they might not be the same. TBD.

It’s a testament to Connelly that I don’t care about what is happening but still reading because he makes everything so real. Backhanded compliment, I guess.

First thought going through my head was: GI Joe is the code name for America’s dating, highly trained special missions force. Second thought is that maybe I shouldn’t have read this so soon after reading The Terminal List. Already getting feelings of similarity here.

Want to like it. So slow. Too descriptive about everything.

Okay, figuring it out. Very detailed on equipment, to the point it’s almost annoying to someone very unfamiliar with it. I’m sure those that are eat it up, I would.

Wow. I have loved every minute of this book so far.

Starting to get into it now that some of the building of characters is done and the focus is on Horvath.

Hm. Political thrillers are just not my thing. It’s still early but not into it yet.

Still amazed how this book hasn’t betrayed what I remember from the show. It took me shamefully long to realize who Eleanor is. The name and FBI just didn’t click for some reason. They are already divorced in the show. That makes reading the books fresh, which I’m happy about.

I was afraid watching the show would ruin this book but only flashes are coming back. Feels very different.

Love Connelly’s writing. Even an older book like this it is so amazing. Not a breezy read.

First book I’ve read in a while that reads like a movie. Descriptions and pacing are excellent.

Reacher…said…nothing. Ugh. Reacher also did nothing.

He should have titled this book He Said Nothing. I’m tired of reading that sentence.
