Wow. I thought I would just read a story or two, but I'm tearing through this entire book. Stories by indigenous women and women of color of miscarrying, fetal and infant loss. Powerful stories. Important stories. Impactful stories.

Blurgh. This is a depressing slog. I would definitely drop this if not for the library's book club.

I am love, love, loving this nature memoir. I find it so peaceful and fascinating to read about nature, even though I'm a wimp about being in nature. I'd rather curl up in my cozy bed, watch the snow fall out my window and read about Van Hemert's experiences in nature. Highly recommended. Whenever I have a spare minute, I eagerly pick this book up.

Just started this and it's crazy good. It's one of those all-I-want-to-do-is-read-this books. Next up is reading everything else Sarah Gailey has ever written.

So far a powerful look at the effects of PTSD, framed as a Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson story--both are black women and this is set slightly in the future during a civil war in the US. Told from Dr. Watson's viewpoint. You will root for her like none other.

I am loving this sweet, tender novel. Highly recommended for its portrait of life for a middle class woman before and during WWI in a small, British town.

I immediately fell in love with this fun novella about how the Queen of England happens upon a Bookmobile, picks out a book to be polite, gets addicted to reading and tries to fit it into her busy schedule.

I'm glad I stuck with "Beartown" and couldn't put it down even when I wanted to. Backman has done an impressive job with this book. There's a lot of insight into why and how people act.

I can't stop reading this slow burn novel, but I'm also increasingly dreading what's going to happen. I keep stopping, trying to read something else to save myself from the trauma I know is coming and then thinking of the characters and coming back to them.

I am LOVING this wonderful book. For fans of "The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry"--it has that same light feeling to it while looking at the life of a bookseller and his daughter and still tackling tough issues in their lives.

A few pages in and this book is already altering my thinking on end of life care. WOW. I only wish I was able to read this with my grandmother before she died last month. An extremely intelligent woman who loved to think outside the box and examine life, I would love to hear what she thinks of aging at home surrounded by family vs aging at a nursing facility like the one she lived in for the last 6 years of her life.
