When Lester announced that she was setting her new novel in 60s Hollywood, & said with a wink-nudge that readers ought to look out for allusions to real-life matinee icons, I had obviously been over-optimistic to assume that she had any sense of subtlety. It is very funny to see that silent-era actors are apparently free-reign for copyright purposes though.
