I know very little about the Vietnam war but war is war. This book describes the effect war has on people, families, relationships. Frankie McGrath is a sorority girl. He father has a wall of war heroes, her mother believes that Frankie should find a husband, have children and be a good wife. Frankie's brother, Fin, is sent to Naval college and goes to Vietnam. Frankie wants to do something with her life.

Rebecca is a medic. She questions everything about Xavier's accident and his mother's relationship with the neighbours, but. Rebecca has had numerous miscarriages but she never seems to learn from them. She's over working and doesn't seem to take time off when she gets pregnant again. Never seeks help at subsequent pregnancies. She's even buried foetuses in her garden. Why???

I'm intrigued by the characters but not really enjoying the book. It's sad and depressing so far.

I love Lucinda Riley’s books. I can’t put it down and desperate to understand what happened to Anni and how she ended up back in India instead of continuing her nursing career and taking up residence in the Astbury stately home.

Interesting plot so far. The person who I thought was the killer has just been murdered.

At the moment I'm not feeling much for this story other than a married man lusting after a younger beautiful woman.
