Ok so the main character - Susan - is kind of dumb, but there are so many other interesting perspectives in this book. The short chapters are making me zooooOooooOooom through this! Definitely enjoying it so far. I hope I’m wrong about where I think it’s going.

Just zooming through this book!

Launches the reader right into the action. I like that it’s set in Ireland - that’s cool. It’s refreshing to read a book set somewhere other than the U.S. The writing is a little cliche at times but I’m still curious about where it’s going to go. And did I mention the short chapters? Very helpful for my ADHD brain. Hopefully going to zoom through this book quickly! :)

Omg the pacing and twists in this book are stupid good.

Started on release day! Buddy read with Christine. Love that this is a hardcover. (I need more hardcover books in my life.) Now for the actual story. Strong start. Love Ashley Elston’s writing style. She is great at writing descriptively but with fast-paced energy that shows without “telling” a lot. Can’t wait to read more.

Okay, yes. This book is definitely worth the hype so far. So historically and scientifically accurate. Very strong and interesting characters. Loving this. I’m not going to burn through this though - this is the kind of book where I feel I want to savour it. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

I actually am getting a little scared from this lol. Want to read it only during the daytime lol. So atmospheric and creepy. The sense of foreboding is definitely there!

Omg this is so good. The pacing, the short chapters, the characterization, the humour, the twists… I’m hooked. This is getting 5 stars unless it takes a dive at the end. Mark my words.

I don’t know if I’m the right demographic for this as I’m not a mom, but I am enjoying this thriller-comedy. Definitely interested in seeing where this is going!

Good start. Love the short chapters and quick pacing. I’m surprised this is rated so low. I usually really like Sarah Pekkanen. Going to avoid reading reviews and try to make up my own mind about this.

Okay so I am definitely hooked on this. Have lots of ideas of where I think this is going to go. Love the audiobook. Love the energy and the tension in this. Can’t wait to keep reading. This is probably one of the best Shari Lapenas I’ve ever read and I’ve read all of hers. They’re always decent reads but this one is great!

Okay so this might be a little bit too “twee” for my tastes, but I’m still trying to keep an open mind. They’ve just introduced the main character’s future love interest (I think) and I think he seems like a beautifully complex character. Main character is a little bit too much of a goody-two-shoes in my opinion. Anyways, pressing on!
