This is the current short story collection that I'm working through as part of the Ray Bradbury challenge. There's 15 short stories in the collection, of which I've read 7. It's only going to be updated a story a day so don't get too excited. This is also the first James Joyce I've ever read and I'm enjoying it so far.

I have put this back on the list as part of the Ray Bradbury challenge. So, this might take a while to finish.

I've decided to park this until Remembrance Reads in November. Not because it is a bad book but because I feel it would be better read then. I'll leave it here though.

I've wanted to read more about Verdun, about which I know almost nothing, for years. I wanted to read about it because of how it dovetails with the Battle of the Somme. But this introduction makes me think I should have read about it much, much earlier.

Continuing the reading tag game that started with Ada Palmer's superb 'Inventing the Renaissance' that passed on to God's Philosophers. All three actually touch on each others themes so that's good.

BTW this page count is seriously shorter than the Kindle version I'm reading, which is 531 pages.

Having glibly read the word forever I finally understand what Transubstantiation is. As in the argument for it. I sort of knew what it was as a thing. I am confusing myself now.

I decided, after Ada Palmer's 'Inventing the Renaissance' to go backwards to fill in my understanding of some of the ideas and people that were to influence the Renaissance.
