i don’t want to jump the gun but this book feels sm better now than it did weeks ago when i first read it and hated it

this bs adela redemption arc propaganda isn't gonna work on me. she's an awful person through and through and she literally HASN'T changed or grown in the slightest. like why does the only darkskin girl go thru hell and then has to pick up the pieces and forgive literally everyone, while adela and emory get carried thru life even though they DON'T deserve it???? im #noticing

omg i haven’t come this close to finishing a book in 4 weeks i’m so excited. also LOVED adela’s downfall… unfortunately she’s gonna get a bs redemption arc but for now i’m gonna enjoy simone

adela's pov pmo SO bad bc a page ago we have simone literally fighting for her child's life in the ER and i flip the page and adela is talking abt her and her useless man effing in public. like i'm sorry her and emory's sections are ruining the book for me. simone's chapter was just FIVE perfect stars like i felt that in my CHEST and now i have to deal w adela's nonsense again.

this book oh my actual god if you hate stupid people making even stupider decisions this book will make you so mad you actually almost combust into flames lord my chest hurts i have so many comments flaming the characters bc no offense this level of stupidity can't be real like i can't be reading this right now

despite finding this fmc SO incredibly annoying, the gargoyle actually unbearable, and rory ugly and stupid, i'm obviously locked into this book so HOPEFULLY it'll get me out of this stupid rut i'm in...

this fmcs whole tirade against violence is pmo bc a random man in the night was about to grab her and the gargoyle hurt him so they could run away and she called him childish for that??? is she good?? like her naivety is seriously grinding my gears

me trying to convince myself that buying this book wasn't a total waste of money and this isn't just another installment of stupid fake enemies to lovers romantasy slop (it 100% is i think i wasted my money and i just hope and pray at the very least it gets me out of my slump)

i don't know if it's physically possible for me to finish this series i'm deathly bored by these characters and this stake-less plot!! like if aelin has some secret (not so secret and easily predictable) plan to take on ever enemy ever then why am i even reading. like idk i've read way too much QUALITY fantasy to take these chopped ahh characters seriously.

ok my guess rn is that ofc the new man aidan is involved in the missing gf case. he 100% lied to maggie abt how close he was w her and how long they were together. i think he might have some kind of anger issues?? but rn im not sure why maggie is his new target to get engaged to? is it something to do w the company. probably. maybe the missing girl worked there too.

what kills me is how predictable this book is like i feel so meh while reading

sjm is so good at writing characters that make me absolutely FURIOUS bc omg darrow when i CATCH YOU.. he just wouldn’t stop!!! the sexism from that man was genuinely appalling like do we not have a literal war to fight rn??? like i thought i’d finally have some peace and time alone without chaol and here comes chaol SQUARED… piss offffffff
