Oooh I just read Light Spitter and that is immediately my favorite story in this. Deirdra was sooo cool I would love to read a whole novel in her voice :0

Like Stitches, the endings of these stories are soooo meh. But the art is awesome and a lot of the concepts are scary this time.

Not as scary as I was anticipating. Truly just some lil mysterious folklore-type tales. I am enjoying!! It feels like an easy entry for graphic novels and manga, which I'm trying to get in to!

reading this to prep myself for his novel. I’m not usually a sci-fi guy, but I am really enjoying this writing style and these characters!!

I swear I’m gonna finish this book. Even if it takes me a full year. It is so good and every time I pick it up, I don’t wanna put it down!!! I just noticed that all the main characters are named after animals and the main villain is “Trapper” like that’s so fun….. the one character who isn’t obviously an animal name is “Penelope” which I looked up and it means “duck” sooooo!!!!!

I keep coming back to this one. One of these days I’ll actually finish it. It’s sooo fun!!!

This perspective is very refreshing to read. It’s just all about “the gift economy” as an alternative to our hyper capitalist economy and it’s sooo true and real and beautiful. Society 🫂 as opposed to society 💰

Ok yeah here’s what’s bothering me: the wattpad of it all. The “forbidden” romance isn’t my thing. The “my dog” thing doesn’t work for me. The dialogue is just okay. I do love the sex scenes, those are great! At times, giving wattpad smut but not in a distracting or necessarily bad way. I think I like it more than I dislike it. I will continue listening…. If only for the lesbian sex

I’ve only experienced this with one other book and it’s strange. When I put it down, I don’t really care to pick it back up. But when I do pick it up, I’m IN IT. Idk it’s well written and I enjoy it, but something is not working for me. Maybe the dialogue?

Listening on audiobook and the narrator is trying to do the Jodi Foster Clarice voice and the Anthony Hopkins Hannibal voice and it’s so strange. Just a very odd choice. Anyway, I feel this way about the movie, too: saying “he’s not trans, he just wants to be” is not the woke serve you think it is!!! I know it’s a product of its time or whatever but it takes away from the story!!!! 🤷‍♂️

Recommend me your favorite audiobooks?? I’m about to start my new job and I will have a lot of listening time available.

I’m reading this sooo slow but I’m reading it!!! This book is so fun. I love Elka. I love Wolf. If Wolf dies I’ll cry for days and I’m not joking.

Takes a second to get into the writing style. I am pretty opposed to writing accents phonetically but this is like…. Fine…. I’m enjoying it enough to keep reading!

I’m kinda all over the place with reading right now. Ozzie just brought me a physical copy of this so I’m reading it. I will probably get back to Curse of the Bane when I can walk around more. I will certainly come back to I’ll Give You the Sun and The Book with the Beacon Lights! Just dk when yet

I remember bits and pieces of this as it’s happening! Tbh this is exactly the kinda book I want to write: scary enough for adults that it holds up, but really intended for kids. THANK YOU Mr. Delaney for not shying away from the gore and guts and blood and rats!! It’s good for the whole family!!

I was OBSESSED with these books in middle school before I read HP and Percy Jackson and NO ONE has heard of them. But I brought them up to Ozzie AND HE READ THEM IN MIDDLE SCHOOL TOO!!! Now he’s rereading them and I’m jealous so I’m rereading them too

This was my intro to fantasy!! This series really gave me the love of reading. Super excited to see how they hold up!!
